Harold Houba is associate professor of Economic Theory with teaching experience on many topics in Economic Theory such as Auction Theory, Bargaining Theory, Game Theory, Microeconomics, Industrial Organization, Behavioral Economics, Neuroeconomics and Behavioural Game Theory. Among his major research interests are market power and bargaining theory.

 

In 2014, he co-organized the 9th Tinbergen Institute Conference:

70 Years Theory of Games and Economic Behavior.

 

Since January 1, 2012, Harold Houba coordinates the FEWEB’s honour programme.

PhD. Thesis titled Game Theoretic Models of Bargaining, defended at the University of Tilburg in 1994. Supervisors were Prof.Dr. Aart de Zeeuw and Prof.dr.ir. Gerard van der Laan. Besides the supervisors, the defence committee consisted of Prof.Dr. Eric van Damme, Prof.Dr. Joseph Plasmans, Prof.Dr. Stef Tijs and foreign guest member Prof.Dr. E.S. Maskin (Nobel laureate in Economics 2007).
