Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ecnomics, School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (since 2008). I taught international economics, monetary theory and money and banking. After my retirement I have been lecturing and publishing, mainly on recent developments in the monetary landscape and in particular on Islamic Finance.
