Lecture 1: Introduction: the entrepreneurial archetype

A number of traditional approaches will be treated. A common aspect

of all those models is that they try to draw up a set of traits with which

entrepreneurs can be distinguished from ‘ordinary’ people.

This lecture will critically discuss the applicability of these approaches.

Critique here is that this archetype is rather static. The archetypical traits

and ideas related to ‘the entrepreneurs’ are clichés, to which entrepreneurs

often have to relate.
