Lecture 4: Entrepreneurial networks as social capital
This is the core lecture of the course.
The relationships an entrepreneur accumulates in a social network
and the sum of potentialities of these relationships are often referred
to as social capital.
This lecture will introduce a new model for social networks. While
mainstream social network models use individual people as nodes, the
model used in this course takes groups of people as nodes. Any set of
two groups are linked by people who are included in both groups. This
is believed to be a more natural representation of human networking.
