Teaching: I teach
the course Technology and
Innovation at VU University Amsterdam. Each year, this third-year
Bachelor course attracts 500 students. It explains the drivers of
technological innovation in firms, government and society. Students who pass
this course obtained state-of-the-art knowledge on: the organization of
scientific- and business-R&D, new product development, product design,
production systems, and market delivery. I
also teach the course Management
of Sustainable Innovation. This Master course is expected to be
open for students in Science, Business and Innovation at VU University
Amsterdam. It focuses on the persons, organizations and institutions who
bring new sustainable technologies, inventions, and services to the market.
Students who pass this course obtained the latest knowledge on the
commercialization of sustainable innovations and new technologies. Want
to do your thesis on these subjects (Bachelor, Master, or
Ph.D.)? You are welcome to contact me (b.a.g.bossink@vu.nl). "Getting people to talk to each other
is the only truly effective way of transferring technical knowledge and
advancing the process of innovation." This statement and the
supporting argument can be read inThomas Allen and
Gunter Henn's book The Organization and Architecture of Innovation. "The beginning of administrative wisdom
is the awareness that there is no optimum type of management system."
This and many other insights can be obtained from Tom Burns and G.M.
